Hello everyone! Hope your thanksgiving was one to remember.
I wanted to make a few announcements regarding my personal music and the future of these articles. I am happy to say that my debut album ‘One Ethereal Prison’ is out now as well as the album’s single, which can be heard here. CDs are available for purchase if you are interested.
This album has songs that go all the way back to last summer, and others that were written in the last two months, so needless to say that it’s breadth is very expansive.
Approaching this album as the composer and the performer has been an interesting and epic process. It has required a great deal of creativity and discipline. Creativity in the sense that (within the exception of two tracks featuring vocals) I have been responsible for all the ideas in each song. I don’t mean to say that this was a burden though. Instead it was about trusting my intuition and knowing that the pathway for each song will reveal itself, but only once I started taking steps. Like, it could seem daunting when I thought about all the decisions that have to be made within a song, and by decisions I mean everything from the songs instrumentation to the style of each phrase and continuity part to part, but really, I found this exhilarating because of the freedom of choice and opportunity to express myself.
Discipline was also required too. But again this wasn’t a situation where I had to force myself to write the music, I love the writing process, it was more about doing the tendentious tasks that are also necessary to being a solo artist. That is, the post hoc scoring of the songs, the posting, and social media engagement. These felt more like work than anything else, but what kept me going was that I knew that the work would eventually pay dividends, which brings me to my last announcement.
There are nine tracks on the album, and I have been busy creating the most detailed scores of the music. I plan to write in depth articles regarding the scores. These will feature explanations on technique, to harmonic and melodic analyses to song title choice and more!
Once I complete these nine articles, I plan on releasing a book containing the collection of scores and articles explaining the music.
Thank you for your continued support!! See ya’ll later.
